Baseball's World Series celebration is pitiful...no confetti...no on field celebration...nothing....but I'm glad the Giants won.
I guess every fall there's going to be a film about how pitiful Black women's lives are...last year it was Precious adapted from the book PUSH and this year it's Tyler Perry's For Colored Girls adapted from the play For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf... What's next?... The Color Purple prequel?...
I'm so happy the election is here...I was going crazy having to see political commercial after political commercial on TV... They are so annoying...
Daylight Savings Time begins this Sunday...I wish the government would leave time alone...It's a pain re-setting the time twice a year...
Huge crowds of people scare me...but I'm going to have to get over it because there are a few people I want to see in concert...like Sade, Marsha Ambrosius and Esperanza Spalding...
I almost always carry a backpack...I find most handbags awkward to carry...but as I'm getting older I think I need to start carrying handbags more...
I'm feeling the urge to go back to school...but for something totally unrelated to work...like cartography...
I'm really crushing on Chicago...I visited there a couple of years ago...And now I just can't get that city out of my mind...
I'm only a very casual football fan...but I predict that the Tennessee Titans will make it to the SuperBowl...Ha!..I can't believe I just made a SuperBowl prediction...
I'm trying to convince myself that Sarah Palin's voice isn't annoying...just in case I have to listen to it in 2012...

You covered a LOT here. I'll address two issues:
That's EXACTLY what irks me most about Palin. It's not the stuff that comes outta her mouth... not that she's often clueness... it's that damn nasal TONALITY of her VOICE! *Fingernails on a blackboard*
Unless America loses its collective mind, & errrbody drinks the damn Kool-Aid, I don't see Palin as Prez in 2012!
I hope you can shake your agoraphobia, Val. Sade will be expecting you! (smiles)
One.
Won't speak on the World Series because I wasn't interested.
Cinematically speaking, it seems that TP has cornered the market on black girl's pain. The original play means a lot to me and I hope TP does is justice visually. I want to watch this movie like he didn't create "Why Did I get Married Too & Madea's Goes To Jail. It's hard, but I'm reserving judgement until I see the movie.
Some of the political commercials were excercises in the art of bullying.
I grew up In New York but I don't dig larg crowds either. I loathed the morning commute from Brooklyn to 34th street and being engulfed in that ocean of people at Penn station.
Chicago is dope! A former friend of mine lived in Waukeegan, which is a suburb of Illinois and when I visited her, we would hang out in the Chi. We would always argue about who had the best pizza, Chicago or New York. Lol!
Gold star for Super Bowl prediction *throws confetti*
Ummm... I meant: not that she's often CLUELESS!
Not "clueness!"
LMAO!
One.
Its not Sarah's voice its her mannerism. She is surely annoying and convincing yourself otherwise might lead to other foolishness, like voting for her... don't do it.
Backpack? Just go urban/grown up and get any sort of shoulder bag. messenger style for the casual days, sleek leather for business days, all sorts of options.
My wife loves Chicago, because of Oprah. Didn't you say something about her recently?
Titans?!? Ugh. But any mention of football is to be lauded.
@Lin
I don't even think she's gonna really run. But in order to make her money she's going to make everyone think she might, which means we'll be hearing that voice.
I'm going to have to shake it otherwise I'll be really angry at myself for missing Sade.
@Jason
I just wish Black women were shown on screen doing something other than suffering.
Penn Station is a trip. The rush hour subway rides used to get to me.
I hate Chicago pizza but they make great hot dogs.
Lol, thanks for the gold star!
@brohammas
I doubt that she'll ever run for any major office again. She'll be too busy counting her money. But she'll be on tv annoying everyone for years to come.
Yeah, I have a shoulder bag. And I like it. I just have to get used to it.
Lol, I actually like Chicago in spite of Oprah. :-)
If they actually make it no one will be more surprised than me.
I make joke after joke after joke considering Palin's chances but I believe it has to be accepted that there is a possibility that she could become the GOP nomination against President Obama in '12.
Can she win the election? Who knows.
That is a beautiful picture of downtown Chicago, I'm assuming. Never visited, only traveled through on our way to Wisconsin or Michigan.
I actually saw For Colored Gurls at a special screening last week and it left me disappointed, to say the least.
Funny you mention The Color Purple, cause I expected this film to be somewhat of a sequel to that film. It was a good film, I guess, it's just that certain parts f the movie are wild and unimaginable, especially when all the women end up at the center together.
Whoopi and Thandie Newton both gave strong acting performances.
Good stuff, Val.
@Don
Palin doesn't want to be President, she wants to be rich.
Yep, that's Chicago. You should visit. You'd like it.
I won't be seeing that film. I just can't take this kind of film anymore. Especially from Tyler Perry.
