Does the UN know something that we don't about space aliens?

The United Nations has named a scientist, Mazlan Othman, a Malaysian scientist, Official UN Alien Spaceship Greeter. Nope, I didn't make that up.


So the question is; does the UN know something that we don't? Has there been some kind of contact made with aliens? Are they on their way?

If there has been no contact and the UN doesn't have any more information about aliens than the general public then I think maybe it's time the UN is disbanded because, well, they're idiots.

And just who does the UN think it is anyway; if aliens actually do come to earth they will come to the United States, right? I mean they always come to the U.S. in the movies. So the President will greet them, right? Ha!

Evil in the DRC (Democratic Republic of Congo)

Can you imagine 200 White women being gang raped over a matter of 4 days by armed men anywhere in the world and it not being the lead story in the mainstream media for weeks or months after?

Two-hundred women in the Democratic Republic of Congo have been raped and in many cases gang raped by rebel soldiers during a four day period beginning July 30. And to make this even worse, the rapes occurred within a few miles of a United Nations peace keepers base.

I haven't heard anything about this atrocity in the MSM. That's not to say they haven't covered it. But it certainly hasn't garnered lead story status or anything near that.

This is not the first case of rapes or mass rapes in Congo. This has been going on for some time.

Money for Haiti

Yesterday at a United Nations donor meeting for Haiti several nations pledged to donate 9.9 billion dollars to rebuild the earthquake ravished country. This is a great start but I wonder who will be in charge in Haiti?

Haitian President Préval all but disappeared immediately after the earthquake and stayed missing for about two weeks. The rest of the government is in shambles and lacks even the most basic infrastructure. So who will decide what needs to be done? Who will dole out the money?

I'm very happy that the world is finally stepping up to the plate for Haiti but I worry that this opportunity for the people of Haiti will be squandered by a sometimes corrupt and inept Haitian government. What Haiti needs is a Marshall Plan. There needs to be a long-term step by step plan to re-build Haiti. Otherwise ten years from now we'll all be shaking our heads and wondering what happened to all of the money.
