Well the Republicans are about to take over Congress after being out of power for just two years and after having been in power for eight of the last ten years. The economic disaster that this country is experiencing is without a doubt due to their economic policies.
Bush and the Republicans grew the government and increased government spending like never before and yet somehow the Republicans have apparently convinced a huge number of Americans that the economic meltdown is the fault of the Democrats.
That is partly due to most Americans being unable to think logically and partly due to the Democrats being brain dead.
If most Americans could think logically they'd be laughing like crazy at the lies Republicans are telling while voting the Republicans that are already in office out on the street. I mean how unbelievable is it that the Republicans are talking about the government being too big when they grew the government? And yet there are millions of Americans who are buying that nonsense hook, line and sinker.
And yes, the Democrats are brain dead. If they collectively had any sort of normal brain activity they would have been blaming the Republicans for the economy for the last two years. Every time a Democrat spoke they should have mentioned George Bush and his deficit.
But they didn't do that. They just sat around patting themselves on the back because they won control of Congress and the Senate.
The Republicans are going to be a disaster once they take over. They are going to reward the rich for being rich with tax breaks and all sorts of goodies. Meanwhile they will cut all sorts of programs that help middle-class and poor Americans.
So, buckle-up folks we're about to fly through some serious turbulence. Unless of course you happen to be rich.

*Double sigh*
We definitely need to fasten our seat belts. When the elephants take over, we're gonna be in for one helluva ride.
Oh God, more turbulence,how much more can we bear???
I couldn't possibly agree with you more. But tomorrow, I'll be confronted by an ugliness that you don't even have to think about. Tomorrow I have to choose to vote for either Jim DeMint, professional oxygen thief; or Alvin Greene who just so happens to be as dumb as a bag of hammers.
We need to do better. Our best and brightest need to start running for office.
Let me triple that *sigh*...
The Rock The Vote photograph of Alicia Keys.....
HOT.
Turbulence is prolly an understatement at this point w/ the climate in DC. However that's mostly about power shifts & politics as usual. These people are constantly fighting their own cold war.
But when I think back on past elections & ask myself just how MUCH CHANGED in my every day life... sadly, the answer is not much. No matter who is running things, or which party controls the House majority, for good or bad, things remain the same as they ever were. If you're poor, you remain poor. If you're rich, you either stay that way or increase your riches.
That's life in America.
One.
*wavin* Hey Val!
Tehehehehehe! Loved this post. But you're still gonna vote, right?
@Reggie I'm in the same boat as you, bruh!
One good thing is we'll be rid of these campaign ads x10 at every commercial break. This has been one nasty election season (from ALL parties).
@Felicia Monique
Exactly.
@Jason
And that ride could last for the next 6 years if Obama isn't careful.
@Desertflower
That's a good question. Not too much I think.
@Reggie
Yep, you have it pretty rough down there. The Republicans messed you guys up with that Alvin Greene thing.
@Mizrepresent
Yep.
@Don
So true, Don. There are a lot of people that believe the hype and never check the facts.
@Don
Ha. Yep she sure is.
@Lin
"If you're poor, you remain poor. If you're rich, you either stay that way or increase your riches."
Yeah it feels like a scam, doesn't it. Sometimes I think the Dems and Republicans sit in back rooms smoking cigars laughing at us.
@Penny Wize
Waving back! Hey Penny Wize, missed you!
Yeah, I have to help make sure Meg Whitman doesn't become our next governor here in California. If she does it's going to be tragic here.
I'm still holding out hope for the Senate. But honestly, even if Democrats played things perfectly in terms of PR, history proves that when the president and both chambers in congress are held by one party, tides will turn come midterms. It's easier to categorically blame a party for the state of the country when it holds all of the power. Americans love a scapegoat!
@Moufbreatha
I think the Dems might hold the Senate too. But there's going to be a lot of gridlock if they take the House. Which of course they'll blame on the President.
I just wish people would scapegoat the Republicans since they deserve it.
