Interesting fact: Karyn was married (in 1992) to music producer Terry Lewis of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis fame. Jimmy and Terry produced most of Janet Jackson's best work as well as tons of other hit songs in the 80's and 90's. Karyn and Terry are now divorced.
Karyn now lives near Sacramento, California where she is a real estate agent and runs an interior design company. She's 44 years old.
Karyn's work on Facts of Love with Jeff Lorber led to her being signed by Warner Music. Her song Love Saw It with Babyface is an 80's classic.

This is on point. Karyn White is forthcoming in my Before Beyonce series.
My favorite album of Karyn's is her last album actually "Make Em Do Right" that record was tragically overlooked. And the song "Superwoman" is a classic!
Good Post Val.
Good to look back, especially since I was too busy listening to Depeche Mode and the Dead Milkmen back in her day.
Awww brohammas...
It was possible to listen to Depeche, The Cure, Oingo Boingo AND Karyn White too.
I didn't know she married Terry Lewis.
One of my boy's from home has a sister who is married to Jimmy Jam.
I used to get autographed hats, t-shirts and albums from Mr. Jam.
(My boy's other sister is married to Kevin Garnet.)
@Jason
You're right about her last album being overlooked, I've never even heard of it. But on your recommendation I'll check it out.
@brohammas
Personal Jesus is in rotation on my ipod playlist. And speaking of Depeche Mode, Check out this blog:

Wow, you are well connected.
that you like karyn white makes me smile. No one ever mentions her. I have always loved her. My favorite songs from her are 'the way you love me', 'romantic', 'beside you,' and a few others, but those 3 popped in my head. I listened to her along with all those you mentioned as well.
@Daij
Yeah a lot of people don't know anything about, or have forgotten, Karyn. That's a shame.
No... not at all.
I just grew up in Southern, California at a time when everyone just hung out together before they "made it".
The people we'd meet, party and play poker with were just people we'd meet, party and play poker with.
It was funny to watch Sportscenter or MTv with someone who was watching themself on TV.
(I thought you'd be more surprised that I knew of Depeche, The Cure or Oingo Boingo.)
@UBJ

Well I might be surprised you know of The Cure maybe but not Depeche Mode or Oingo Boingo. Lol.
