Condé Nast which owns Vogue magazine has rejected a proposal for Vogue Africa. Apparently a photographer named Mario Epanya made the proposal to Condé Nast. He made these mock-up covers as part of the proposal.Too bad this isn't going to happen. I gave up buying Vogue a few years ago because of its lack of diversity. I would definitely have been a Vogue Africa buyer though.

If I spend my money, it is usually on something relevant to me.
I wouldn't buy Vogue magfazine because most of the time they don't have anything relevant to me as a black woman.
I would read it free though, and all the times I have looked through that magazine, I was in a waiting room at a hairdresser, at the hospital or similar place. I just wouldn't buy it, personally.
Now, if they had a Vogue Africa issue, I would consider buying it, but to be honest, there are plenty of magazines aimed at black people that we can buy instead. I mean there is Black Hair, Colures, Sophiticate's black hair, Black Beauty and Hair. There are just loads.

I agree with you. There are more than a few publications featuring Black women. But it would have been nice to have another, especially one featuring African women.
But like you, I'm not going to lose any sleep over Vogue's decision.
