On April 19, 1995 Timothy McVeigh attacked the United States, by detonating a truck bomb, in the worst single case of domestic terrorism in U.S. history. The attack took place in Oklahoma City 15 years ago today.
Former President Bill Clinton during a recent interview said he thought the heated rhetoric of the so-called Tea Party movement and like minded TV and radio hosts could lead to another Oklahoma City type attack.
I tend to agree with the former President. It only takes one right-wing nut to pull off a major attack. Especially with so much info online about bomb making and weaponry. And yet the threat of such an attack prompted by the hate speech of people like Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin doesn't seem to be enough of a bother to the Tea Party adherents to dial back their violent rhetoric.
It's clear that the biggest and loudest voices of the Tea Party movement are just chasing money. They really have no concern for their fellow Americans because if they did they would remember what happened when a lone nut with a grudge against the government parked a truck bomb outside a Federal building and blew it up killing 160 American citizens and injuring at least 660.
If another Oklahoma City happens and the terrorist says he was motivated by Palin or Limbaugh or Fox News or the Tea Party, then what will they say?

Good question, Val. I believe it depends on what particular news station reports the answer.
This entire scenario reminds me of a feeling where one knows something is about to take place, you see it coming, and there is nothing anyone can do towards preventing whatever happens.
I could be wrong - it seems like the atmosphere for an attempt on Obama's life is being made, as well. Not too mention other targets.

I'm pretty sure that there are more than a few Tea Party types who are chomping at the bit to get to Obama.
I think about this often. I wonder will president Obama spend his days ducking and dodging from a snipers rifle. I wonder which minority will have to defend themselves agains violence. I think about this often.

And the media ignores the violent side of these people. Par for the course.
Most of the extreme right do not take cues from Palin or Limbaugh. They consider them insufficiently dedicated to racial and separatist issues. Mcveigh was the same way; he looked to people like William Pierce for inspiration. Pierce makes Palin look like a 60s era hippie.

Maybe so but it only takes one Tea Bagger with a gun to do serious damage.
