I think the Mexican -American Community is finally getting real about White racism in this country,for long time most in the Mexican-American community just like our community,we put the obvious racism and discrimanation on the back burner in favor of a dollar and a little harmony, Instead of planning on our own future and not depending on the kindness of the majority community
Wow! Strong pic, so true and I totally agree with BigMac. I think about Puerto Rico and how the majority over there want to become a state. As a Puerto Rican, i am all for self-determination but if we are racial profiling RIGHT HERE, what are they going to do if PR becomes a state? Profile the whole island! Crazy
Val, thanks for stopping by my blog, I see from your pic, we both LOVE Angela Davis. I am loving your blog too. God Bless!
People are reacting to things without thinking about the long-term damage. Racial profiling is the lazy way of enforcing laws. And, as demographics change, like you mention, then what.
I love this pic. Arizona is about to have a very rude awakening over the next few months. I find it interesting that the even former head of Homeland Security, Tom Ridge, is giving the state the side-eye.
Lots of cities and groups are planning boycotts. And many public officials are against it. That's good. But, this new law is very popular amongst voters in Arizona. So I don't think the politicians there will back down. Hopefully though lawsuits will overturn this law.
While I think the Arizona law is laughable - I'm still not sure about how to go about fixing the problems associated with illegal immigration. Most of the people who favor a more lax interpretation of the existing laws are those who don't own anything or those who are not harmed by immigrant workers lowering the pay rates in their field.
I've lost the use of my heart But I'm still alive Still looking for the life The endless pool on the other side It's a wild wild west I'm doing my best
I'm at the borderline of my faith, I'm at the hinterland of my devotion In the frontline of this battle of mine But I'm still alive
I'm a soldier of love. Every day and night I'm soldier of love All the days of my life
I've been torn up inside (oh!) I've been left behind (oh!) So I ride I have the will to survive
In the wild wild west, Trying my hardest Doing my best To stay alive
I am love's soldier!
I wait for the sound (oooh oohhh)
I know that love will come (that love will come) Turn it all around
I'm a soldier of love (soldier of love) Every day and night I'm a soldier of love All the days of my life
I am lost But I don't doubt (oh!) So I ride I have the will to survive
In the wild wild west, Trying my hardest Doing my best To stay alive
I am love's soldier!
I wait for the sound
I know that love will come I know that love will come Turn it all around
I'm a soldier of love I'm a soldier
Still waiting for love to come Turn it all around (4x)
I'm a soldier of love I'm a soldier
Still waiting for love to come Turn it all around (3x)
Still waiting for love to come

@UBJ
I think most people agree that the U.S. needs a real immigration policy and if we get that it will address the issues you're talking about.
Sad isn't it Val?!?
@Reggie
Very sad. There must be a better way.
LOVE that sign!
