According to Forbes magazine the cities on the list below are the top of the bottom as far as places to live. I personally didn't know Memphis was bad enough to be third on the list. Actually I though Memphis might be a good place to live. But I haven't been there since I was 10 years old.
Anyway, if indeed these are the 10 most miserable cities to live then being on the list isn't making things any better.
10 Most Miserable U.S. Cities
01. Cleveland
02. Stockton, Calif.
03. Memphis, Tenn.
04. Detroit
05. Flint, Mich.
06. Miami
07. St. Louis
08. Buffalo, N.Y.
09. Canton, Ohio
10. Chicago

Yes. I heard a Twitter/blogger speak on this and she even went as far to name Ten Reasons why Cleveland is a great place to live. I haven't visited but four cities on the list (born in Detroit), so I couldn't be a good indicator myself.
I have to believe New Orleans should be on this list though.
Shocked @ Canton, Ohio
@Don
Great point about New Orleans. It def should be on this list. I also can't believe Baltimore or Philadelphia didn't make the top 10?
@Don
I hope you'll write a post about being from Detroit at some point. I'd love to hear your views on the city.
But in the list of the "Happiest States" - Louisiana comes in pretty high.
Was this list composed of visitors or residents?
@UBJ
It's based on what it's like to live in these cities.
Yeah... but by whom?
Are residents asked?
Or are outsiders asked for their opinion?
I used to live in a medium sized California desert town.
It was a terrible place to visit but a wonderful place to live.
@UBJ
I'm pretty sure they base this on what it's like for residents not visitors.
