According to several news reports from Los Angeles the remains found in Malibu canyon on Tuesday afternoon are the remains of Mitrice Richardson. Mitrice has been missing since September 17, 2009.
I have been praying for Mitrice's safe return to her family since the day after she disappeared. Unfortunately those prayers have not been answered. I can't convey to you how sad I am right now for Mitrice and for her mom and other family and friends. Now I can only pray that they will find peace and that if foul play was involved in Mitrice's death that those responsible are brought to justice very, very soon.

Rest in protection Mitrice!
Sadness. No words left. Only sadness... & prayers for her family.
Rest in Angelic Peace, Mitrice.
One.
Sad, so sad...
Now I wonder, was she pushed over that cliff while still alive?? Was she thrown over when dead???
I know damn sure she didn't walk off or throw herself over on her own. So they better not come with that!!!
I hope they get whoever did this.
So, so sad!
I just heard and knew you'd have something posted. As I said before, thank you for caring!
@Desertflower
There are so many questions to be answered. This case has really just begun.
@Felicia Monique
Thank you for caring as well.
@Jason & Lin
I pray she is resting in peace too.
Well, that is extremely bad news. At least now the family can give her a decent burial.
Just goes to show how long it takes to investigate crimes against black people, and I say crime because I think she was murdered. How can police officers release a person form custody in the early hours of the morning with no money, transport or way of getting home safe and sound?
Also, I read that a police officer left the station after she was released, how do we know he didn't abduct her and so on? smells fishy to me. These days those who are supposed to uphold the law are the ones breaking it and covering up evidence. Look at how long it took to find this girl, only for her to wind up dead? The police probably already knew that though, seeing as they were dragging their feet to investigate her disappearance.
This wicked world never fails to amaze me anyway.

Mitrice's disappearance is a mystery wrapped inside a mystery. And the mystery really begins before she was taken into custody of an unpaid restaurant bill, which her grandmother tried to pay over the phone.
From there it just gets worse. The sheriffs were unbelievably callus in letting her go off into the night by herself with no id or phone or money.
I am hoping that with all of the attention this has gotten that the FBI can be pressured into getting involved because I and a lot of other people have a bad feeling about the sheriffs officers involvement in this.
This isn't over.
@CO
Yes it is.
Yes I read about her remains being found, which sounds just as horrific as the fact that she had gone missing all this time.
I really hate that her life (anyone's life) came to a tragic end. While witnessing such tragedy I immediately reflect upon the life of my daughters.
Rest in peace, Mitrice.
I think the police officers killed her, that's just what I think, and that's what I thought when I read the information about the case and the fact that the police wold not release the video tape of her leaving the station, sounded fishy to me. Those are the actions of suspect and guilty behaviour.
The case of Mitrice's disappearance just makes me feel so sad. Her family and friends were searching high and low for her but she was probably dead some time ago.
@Don
This kind of situation def makes you appreciate who you have in your life.

I agree with you that the Sheriffs officers have been acting guilty from day one. There is no telling what they could have done to Mitrice especially considering her mental condition upon her arrest.
And Mitrice's mom was right about the police trying to divert attention from the real search to those false sightings in Las Vegas. Just one more thing that makes one wonder.
Sad isn't it.
@Reggie
yep, beyond words.
