I'll check it out.
Wow! Fo real, Val? You dig Jimmy, too? I've made it a part of my personal earthly mission to school as many folks about him as I can. So, I'm a just lil amazed of know of him, as most people of our generation or younger have NO idea who Jimmy Scott is! True Story: listening to him can truly MOVE & shift around the cosmos in the soul.
Wow, Val! Just WOW! You just advanced about 500 Extra Points on my 'Ultra Coolness' Scale!

@Lin
Yep, I love Jimmy Scott. My ex introduced me to his music years ago. He is a true song stylist. That's def a lost art.
His life story is very interesting, would make a great film.
Lol, thanks for the cool points!
Yup. His life would mos def make a fascinating film ( Director Taylor Hackford, who helmed "Ray", had been in discussions about it). Also, I read his bio (by David Ritz... which Jimmy's wife & manager Jeanie sent me) a while back. It was she who first hipped me to him & his unique artistry. Seen him live almost every time he's played in NYC in the last 5-6 years. I'm lucky enough to have become friendly w/ them both & consider myself extremely Blessed to have spent quality time off-stage in his magical presence.
BTW: those cool points are well deserved. ;-)
One.
I used to like Saabs but they look too much like every other car now.
Joan Armatrading? I didn't know anyone else knew who she is.
Damn...
If you didn't like girls too, you'd be my dreamgirl.
@UBJ
I only like early 90's Saabs. The 900 model. Yep, I love Joan. I discovered her by accident while browsing a music store a long time ago.
