According to the Detroit Free Press, Christine Beatty, who was the chief of staff for former Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, will be moving to Atlanta very soon. The newspaper says that Christine has secured a job as a business consultant.Christine served 69 days in jail last year after being convicted of lying on the witness stand during a slander law suit brought by two police officers stemming from a traffic stop in which Beatty was pulled over by police. Subsequently Beatty alleged that the stop was part of a plan by the officers to harass her. The former mayor was also convicted and served time in jail.
Chrissy's former jumpoff Kwame Kilpatrick now lives in a suburb outside of Dallas in what has been described as a million dollar home. He was recently in more trouble for not paying his restitution as ordered by the court.
I really hope this move and new job work out for Chrissy. I think she got a raw deal. After all she was not the mayor but she received just about the same punishment as the mayor. Anyway, she still owes restitution to the city of Detroit in the amount of $100,000. So this job will hopefully allow her to pay what she owes and move on. I wish her luck and I'll be pulling for her.

Yeah it was over-kill Chrissy had already served time. The prosecutor, Kim Worthy, has political aspirations. So I think she was trying to be popular with the voters.

She was dead wrong and she deserved some form of punishment. Maybe the jail time was extensive but you know she is black and a woman. That's the double whammy!! You knew she was going to get screwed. I hope that she can get past this and I truly hope that her future selection in men wil be better. Although Kwame is my frat brother he is a sorry excuse for a politician and a man. It's people like him that have soured politics for the American people. Good post. I didn't hear about this in the mainstream.

You're right about her being a woman and Black and what that means in the justice system. It has just bothered me that she received basically the same punishment as Kilpatrick. He was the mayor not her.
And you're right, he's a bad person.
Anyway, I am really hoping that being in a new city will allow her a fresh start. I hope the media in Atlanta leaves her alone.

I really don't think she's into married men, I think she was into one married man in particular who she has a very long history with. Did you know that she and Kwame were high school sweethearts?
