My concern is that the mainstream media will pick this up and then totally miss the point. They will only focus on Black women being against IR relationships, when that is not the point. The point is that there are many Black men who are in relationships with Black women who could have been featured on the cover. I really don't think that there would have been an uproar if Reggie Bush had been featured inside the magazine instead of on the cover.
Anyway, Essence is at this point an embarrassment to its former self. They seem to not know who their core audience is. People have been having a lot of conversations about the perceived irrelevance of many Black oriented magazines and Essence should be on top of that list.
