Soldier Of Love
I've lost the use of my heart
But I'm still alive
Still looking for the life
The endless pool on the other side
It's a wild wild west
I'm doing my best
I'm at the borderline of my faith,
I'm at the hinterland of my devotion
In the frontline of this battle of mine
But I'm still alive
I'm a soldier of love.
Every day and night
I'm soldier of love
All the days of my life
I've been torn up inside (oh!)
I've been left behind (oh!)
So I ride
I have the will to survive
In the wild wild west,
Trying my hardest
Doing my best
To stay alive
I am love's soldier!
I wait for the sound
(oooh oohhh)
I know that love will come (that love will come)
Turn it all around
I'm a soldier of love (soldier of love)
Every day and night
I'm a soldier of love
All the days of my life
I am lost
But I don't doubt (oh!)
So I ride
I have the will to survive
In the wild wild west,
Trying my hardest
Doing my best
To stay alive
I am love's soldier!
I wait for the sound
I know that love will come
I know that love will come
Turn it all around

I'd say that Solange is the more artistically talented of the two, Beyonce the more attractive. So in terms of commercial appeal, Beyonce becomes the huge star. That's usually the reality of stardom-at least for women, unfortunately. No woman as remotely unattractive as Jay Z could be such a huge star. There are indeed double standards at work.
@?
I suppose beauty is a subjective thing because I really don't think Beyonce is that attractive. I think Solo is much prettier of the two.
"...No woman as remotely unattractive as Jay Z could be such a huge star."
Lol
Beauty is indeed subjective. I'm not saying Solange is unattractive; she's obviously quite beautiful. I just think Bey is about flawless in her looks. But looks aren't everything!
@?
Okay, we are going to have to agree to disagree about who is the prettier Knowles sister.
Beauty is only skin deep, but ugly is clean to the bone.
"I suppose beauty is a subjective thing because I really don't think Beyonce is that attractive. I think Solo is much prettier of the two."
...c'mon Val really?!? Beyonce is gorgeous.
@Reggie
Yeah, really. I think people have been brainwashed into thinking Beyonce is beautiful. I mean she's not unattractive but I don't think she's beautiful. If she and her sister were not well known and I saw the two of them walking down the street Solo is def the one who would catch my eye.
Beyonce is the better looking of the two sisters and she has the most "whatever it is that sells."
Solange looks completely different than she did during Destiny Child's heyday. She is more eccentric than her sister, I believe.
@Don
Oh Don, not you too!? Answer me this; who would you rather see sans all make-up and weaves, etc. Beyonce or Solo?
Solo is a natural beauty. Beyonce needs four or five hours with a stylist, weave doctor, make-up artist, etc. before she's presentable.
Dealing with the factors that SELL music in today's world, I understand why B is the more famous of the sisters. But when looks are not a part of the equation, it still seems that B is the more charismatic performer, IMHO. There was a time when Beyonce was just another mad sexy young woman. But over the years, I've seem her grow in depth (and in talent). Her turn as Etta James really opened my eyes to her potential as an all-round entertainer.
That's not to say she's very articulate. Alicia kicks her azz in that dept.
Methinks Solange will develop into a better artist in the years to come, and maybe, just perhaps, give B a run for her money, literally and figuratively.
One.
@Lin
I can def agree that Solo over time will develop into the better artist. And also that Beyonce is not very articulate to say the least.
I LOVE natural hair. I heard her on Oprah when Chris Rock was doing promos regarding his hair documentary, and Solange was a guess, back when her hair was stubble short, and for the first time I realized there was some substance to her. And I liked what she had to say.
@Daij
Yeah, Solange is a very interesting person. She has a lot to say. I love her hair natural too.
Hahahahaha @ "oh Don, not you too!" Too funny. I just think Beyonce is a goddess. But you do have a point @ not as much w/o the makeup as Solange would be.
And say it with me: "Alicia Keys is MY favorite singer, Don."
@Don
I'm tryin' to say it: Ali...Alici...Alicia...oh well. I'm gonna keep trying though. :-)
In order to make an educated decision on this I'm gonna need you to arrange for me to see both of them naked........then I can give you an honest and educated response Val.
@Reggie
I'm going to arrange that. But how about if I check them out and then describe them to you. :-)
Solange is the pretty one to me. Once you take that lace front out and wipe all that make up off, Bey is not all that. I never thought much of her singin but the girl does put on a show!
@benzbaby
I def agree with you. Solo is the natural beauty of the two. And I also agree that Bey is a showperson indeed.
