Eddie Long is a hypocritical, lying, pedophile (allegedly)

Cry Eddie Cry!

Wednesday's lawsuit, filed in DeKalb County, Georgia, State Court, was brought on behalf of Jamal Parris, now 23, who was a teenager at the time he joined Long's church.

The suit, which claims Long encouraged Parris to call him "Daddy," also names the church and a youth academy as defendants.

Believe it or not sometimes evil people do get their comeuppance. And Bishop Eddie Long is an example of just that. Long is the biggest gay bashing preacher in this country and has been for quite some time. And now we find out that Long has been chasing young men for years.

The suit, also filed by attorney B.J. Bernstein, claims Long engaged in sexual acts with Parris. The young man eventually became a church employee and served as personal assistant to Long and traveled with him, the suit says. The pastor continued to engage in sexual activity with Parris and gave him money, trips and gifts, the suit says.

Three lawsuits have been filed alleging that Bishop Eddie Long had sexual relations with at least three young men on several occasions over several years. They suits also claim that Long took the young men, some were teens, on trips and bought them lavish gifts.

All of this was going on while the Bentley driving, private plane flying Bishop Eddie Long was making life hell for gays and lesbians with his hate speech from the pulpit of his mega-church the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in the Atlanta area.

So now all of those idiots in Long's mega-church know that their tithes have been going to a man who is nothing more than a alleged pedophile. Religion it seems is the perfect place for evil people to take advantage of weak people.

I hope that Bishop Eddie Long ends-up where he belongs and that is in hell with all of the other pedophiles and thieves. In the meantime it's likely his parishioners will make a way for him to stay exactly where he is, in the pulpit, and continue to give him their money like the good lemmings that they are.

Maybe Eddie Long should have been a Catholic priest, he would fit right in.

Wow! Just wow. Ever notice that the most verbal & blatant homophobes are often those w/ the most skeletons in their own closets? These allegations are very damaging & the effect of it all could be seismic, should this prove to be true.

If these young accusers have proof, i.e.: receipts, taped conversations or accurate descriptions of his private regions, then that would add to their credibility. Until then... I guess the jury is still out.

One.

What do you know! Eddie Wrong appears to be a pedaphile.

This seems to be another tale of a hypocritical, opportunist, preacher using his so-called god power to manipulate his followers monetarily and sexually to satisfy is socio-pathological ways.

Talk about the dark coming to light. Sheesh!

But I'll reserve judgement for now. *side eye*

I live in atl..and have lived down the street from both churches. I can say that I used to go to newbirht in 93..in the 9th grade! He had changed and I wasn't feeling it anymore. Don't get me wrong, he had a powerful message and I know GOD used him and still does, just as God will and has used anything (the rocks will cry out). Most of my friends are new birth attendees and they are outragaed. As I say, never get so caught up in the messenger that you forget the message! I pray for the followers. The ones that feel that they have no one to trust. All they need is a reason to not go to chuch. Churches were always said to be "greedy" and always "wanting money". It took a decade of preaching about tithes to finally get over that hump and now this. I'm not shocked or surprised by the allegations. Keep the followers in prayer as well as his children!! They are victims!
PS..someone I know told me that when someone starts to speak in tongues they are removed from the church stating they are disrupting service!! WOW!!!
GREAT POST!!!! Of course I had to touch on it too! ;)

It wouldn't be so bad if he wasn't so firmly against being gay.
(Or if he wasn't a church leader.)

Eddie Long is a mere man, not God. Hopefully, the compassion and forgiveness he withheld from ALL of God's children will be extended to him. Isn't that Christ's eternal message?

@Beauty and Health Editor

Yep, I'm sick of them too. The criminal justice system is apparently now currently a deterrent. People convicted of harming children need to be separated from society forever.

Yep. It happens all the time. Especially with politicians.

It just keeps happening again and again. In light of this and the abuse in the Catholic church you would hope that churches would begin to really keep an eye on clergy.

So true!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. Since you have actually been to this particular church it's nice to hear what you think.

My only problem with the people of the church is that they seemed to go along with Long's rantings on gays and lesbians. Some of which were pretty hateful and ridiculous.Even if people think a way that another lives is problematic I just don't understand the need to be mean and hateful?

And wow, I do feel bad for his children.

"someone I know told me that when someone starts to speak in tongues they are removed from the church stating they are disrupting service!!"

Wow is right.

@UBJ

Some of the men accusing him were just teens at the time they say they were abused. So clergy or not this is bad.

Yep. You are right. And for many including myself it will take a lot of prayer to be able to forgive this, if it's true. Not because he's clergy but because harming children is such a hideous thing.

So the Bishop is a pedophile? After all the hate filled messages condemning gays and lesbians, it now comes out that not only is the good Bishop gay himself, but he enjoys the company of children in the bedroom.

I guess it is no surprise really. Any preacher that lives the life style he does and claims to be doing God's work is just a 'pulpit pimp' as far as I'm concerned.

But I too also feel terrible for all of his followers. They put their trust in this child molester that claims to have their best interest in mind. And obviously the only thing the Bishop cared about is the 'contributions' from church members and dipping his doodle in the children of his parishioners.

I will pray for all the 'blind' followers of the Bishop, and hope that they will all 'see' the truth which is God, and that the types of things the Bishop was doing are sinful in the eyes of the Lord.

I'm trying to feel for them but they sat there all those years listening to his hate filled talk.

I once spoke on Eddie Long back in late '07 on the blogs and it apparently went over the heads of my blog readers.

Well, well, well.

Hope dude stops, immediately.

@Don

I've read a few posts that people have re-posted from several years ago calling Long out. And like yours theirs were met with skepticism back then too.

Soldier Of Love

I've lost the use of my heart
But I'm still alive
Still looking for the life
The endless pool on the other side
It's a wild wild west
I'm doing my best

I'm at the borderline of my faith,
I'm at the hinterland of my devotion
In the frontline of this battle of mine
But I'm still alive

I'm a soldier of love.
Every day and night
I'm soldier of love
All the days of my life

I've been torn up inside (oh!)
I've been left behind (oh!)
So I ride
I have the will to survive

In the wild wild west,
Trying my hardest
Doing my best
To stay alive

I am love's soldier!

I wait for the sound
(oooh oohhh)

I know that love will come (that love will come)
Turn it all around

I'm a soldier of love (soldier of love)
Every day and night
I'm a soldier of love
All the days of my life

I am lost
But I don't doubt (oh!)
So I ride
I have the will to survive

In the wild wild west,
Trying my hardest
Doing my best
To stay alive

I am love's soldier!

I wait for the sound

I know that love will come
I know that love will come
Turn it all around

I'm a soldier of love
I'm a soldier

Still waiting for love to come
Turn it all around
(4x)

I'm a soldier of love
I'm a soldier

Still waiting for love to come
Turn it all around
(3x)

Still waiting for love to come
