When I want to know what the weather is going to be I really don't want to hear about what kind of pressure system is coming through or any of that technical nonsense. I just want to know if it's going to rain and how hot or cold it's going to be.
Now I understand that in most parts of the country the weather is more varied than it is here. We basically have about six months of sun and six months of rain here with some fog thrown in. It doesn't get much warmer than 75 degrees not much colder than 50 degrees. So why do I have to sit for five minutes including 3 or 4 commercials before I get the actual weather report!? And now I've answered my own question; it's the commercials.

My sentiments excatly,of course the weather here in Pittsburgh is so unpredictiable.
All I need is the high and the low for the day and what you think the next five days will look like.
I don't need for you to tell me about how your momma is doing in Texas and that it's 100 degrees.
I hear ya, sister. Another big complaint I have is, why does the weather and sports have to take up so much of the locale news? I don't know if it's the same where you're ate, but our local news is not substantial-most of it is fluff.
Funny post and comments. If I had to guess, I believe it's an effort by television stations to spice up the forecast and make household names out "meteorologists."
I just want to know if it's going to rain and how hot or cold it's going to be. ...I feel you.

Ha! Exactly.
@?
I think it's lazy journalism. Sports and weather don't require anyone to really do anything, it's easy. Yep, same way here.
@Don
Here all of the weather people (they're not even meteorologists) are blond White women. Even though White people are in the minority here.
Well, Val, I started to write a blog post during lunch time. But, instead, I decided that the true way to pass the day would be in reminiscing upon a musical genius and his creative seeds:

Peep the James Brown dance moves.
Okay, okay...last one, last one. Wendy & Lisa:

@Don
The links don't work. :-(
I love Wendy & Lisa.
What's up with Madhouse 10? Why dose that sound so familiar?
Sorry it took so long for me to respond, but all the links work (just rechecked 'em).
Madhouse was an incognito project of Prince's in the late 80s. There were maybe three songs off the album that I enjoyed. Thanks to a then-girlfriend (white girl), that is my favorite Wendy & Lisa song.
There just doesn't seem to be any accountability with the weather. Maybe it's time they kicked it up a notch?!?
I'd like to see the local weatherman paid minimum wage and when he gets the weather right.....then maybe he should get a bonus. That way, he'll always want to be right.
@Reggie
That would be one broke weatherman!
