Have you ever seen a face that looked like home? Have you ever seen a pair of eyes that looked like home? Or heard a voice that sounded like home? I have and I realized then that we are trained from birth to jump into the rat race and focus on what isn't important. Like what we can buy. Or what we wear. Or what zip code our house is in.
When what is truly important is finding home in a face or in a pair of eyes or in a voice or in a touch. That's what life is truly about and those are the only things we can take with us.

I had just mentioned this last week to a woman about how the eyes are truly the windows to one's soul. whether that which is seen is good, bad, or ugly ... it cannot be denied the significance of one's eyes. they speak VOLUMES.
@Don
You're right about the eyes. You can see so much just by really looking into someone's eyes.
@Francis
I agree with you. That was the point of my comment. Obama, I think, decided long ago that politically it's bad for him to show any sort of understanding toward the Black communities in this country.
I knew this when he was approached by the CBC about the unemployment situation for many Blacks. His response was basically that he believed in trickle down economics. And that once the economy was on the right track everyone would gain. Which is a big lie. But one he told for the benefit of Whites.
And had Obama had any sort of right thinking about African Americans he would have actually done something after the Gates situation. If he had put together police and members from Black communities to talk about police abuse and how to stop it then we all may have benefited.
I suppose the Gates thing was what finally turned me off to Obama. He used us to get elected and he's made the political calculation that no matter what we'll vote for him again, so we get nothing.
This is true!!!
